We (as in Dave our programmer) have been developing our own WordPress plugins for some time now. Dave has experience with working with WordPress building custom themes both with and without blogs, as it is a great CMS for everyday websites.
Anyone with experience in WordPress will tell you how useful Plugins are. Plugins extend WordPress’ basic functionality and can enhance the user experience.

An example of a Custom Plugin for a client
Often when building a new theme we will need to create a plugin. These plugins are usually straight forward, if a client needs a part of the theme template to be editable or if they need to display testimonials then we have the appropriate plugin for them. Sometimes building a plugin can be a lot more involved like the properties plugin built for Miles & Son, this needed to accept data directly from CFPwinMan – Residential Lettings & Property Management Software and required configurable search and display options.
