Shaftesbury’s official website (www.shaftesburydorset.com) is the best of its kind for promoting tourism and local events, a tourism meeting has heard.
The joint annual meeting of the Shaftesbury and District Tourism Association and the Blackmore Vale Tourism and Development Company on Wednesday last week at the Royal Chase Hotel included a discussion session with East Dorset District Council tourism official Rachel Limb, Steve Adamson of Destination Dorset, Malcolm Bell of South West Tourism and shadow tourism minister Tobias Ellwood MP.
And during the discussion the speakers, including Bournemouth MP Mr Ellwood, praised www.shaftesburydorset.com which is owned by the town council and has sections for tourism, business, youth and community all individually controlled for the comprehensive way it promotes the town.
